4. Data collection

5. General use of the data

5.1 The personal data, which is collected through the Internet services, is processed and used by Quentic for a specific purpose and in accordance with legal regulations, in particular the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), the Telemedia Act (TMG) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (especially Art. 5 and 6 GDPR therein). We assure you that neither now nor at any point in the future will personal data be passed on to third parties without the explicit consent of the individual in question.

5.2 In order to make accessing the Internet services of Quentic as enjoyable as possible for you, the websites might use what are known as cookies. “Cookies” are small text files that allow user recognition.

Cookies are automatically deleted from your hard drive after you have closed the website. Other cookies remain on your PC so that you can be recognized when you access the website again. Quentic uses cookies in order to measure the frequency at which our sites are accessed and to control the general navigation of our sites. You can adjust your browser so that cookies are generally refused. However, in this case it cannot be guaranteed that you will benefit from the full functionality of the website. To provide you with the best service, we use both "permanent cookies" and "session cookies". The data stored in permanent cookies is used to enable you to use our services as conveniently as possible even during the current visit of the respective service. If you do not wish to allow permanent cookies, you can disable this by deactivating permanent cookies in your browser. The data stored in session cookies are only valid for your current visit to our online offers and are intended to enable you to use our services without restriction as well as to provide you with the most convenient functionality possible for the current visit of our offers and services. If you choose to deactivate session cookies, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to use all our services without restriction.

5.3 We use the services of other companies to optimize our website and our services. The following is an overview of the services used.

Google Analytics and Remarketing

This website uses Google Analytics and Remarketing. These are services provided by Google Inc. ("Google"). Google used “cookies”, text files that are stored on your computer and which make it possible to analyze your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website (including your IP address) is transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The IP address is then shortened by Google to the last three digits, so a clear assignment of the IP address is no longer possible. Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity for the website operator, and to provide other services related to web usage and Internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties, provided this is required by law or if third parties process this data on behalf of Google. Third party advertisers, including Google, display ads on websites on the Internet. Third parties, including Google, use stored cookies to turn ads on the basis of a previous visit by a user on this website. Google will in no case associate your IP address with other Google data.

In addition, this website uses Google AdWords Conversion Tracking. The conversion tracking cookie is set when a user clicks on an ad served by Google. These cookies lose their validity after 30 days and are not intended for personal identification. If the user visits certain pages of this website and the cookie has not yet expired, the website operator and Google can recognize that the user has clicked on the ad and has been forwarded to this page. Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. Cookies cannot be tracked through the websites of AdWords customers. The information collected using the conversion cookie is used to create conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. Customers are informed of the total number of users who have clicked on their ad and have been redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information that allows users to be personally identified. Data collection and storage by Google services may be objected to and revoked at any time with future effect. You may disable the use of cookies by Google by clicking on the Deactivate Google advertising page. Alternatively, uses can deactivate the use of cookies by third party providers by clicking on the Deactivation page of the network advertising initiative. However, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to fully utilize all the functions of this website. In addition, you may prevent Google from processing the data (including your IP address) related to your use of the website (including your IP address), as well as the processing of such data by Google, by downloading and installing a browser plugin provided by Google. By using this website, you agree to the processing of the data about you by Google in the manner described above and for the aforementioned purpose. For more information about Google's terms, click here.

Facebook visitor action pixels

Within our Internet presence, we use the "visitor action pixel" of Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA ("Facebook") with your consent. This is how users' behavior can be tracked after they are redirected to the vendor's website by clicking on a Facebook ad. This allows us to track the effectiveness of Facebook ads for statistical and market research purposes. The data collected in this way is anonymous for us; i.e., we do not see the personal data of individual users. However, this data will be stored and processed by Facebook, which will be communicated to you according to our best available knowledge. Facebook can connect this data to your Facebook account and also use it for its own advertising, according to Facebook's data usage policy https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/. You can enable Facebook and its partners to place advertising on and outside of Facebook. A cookie can also be stored on your computer for these purposes. Only users older than 13 years of age may declare consent. If you are younger, please ask your parents for advice. Please click here if you wish to revoke your consent: https://www.facebook.com/ads/website_custom_audiences/.

Lead tools

For the statistical analysis of visitors' access, data on marketing purposes and the recognition of web visitors is collected, processed and stored using technologies from Lead Tools. An address determination is performed on the basis of this data, but only in cases where it can be ensured that this concerns a company and not an individual as a visitor. When visiting the website, cookies are used, which contain a random number. This random number and the IP address to which it belongs are saved in a database (in Upland LeadLander). No data from other third-party cookies will be obtained. The data left at the websites which were visited will be used to create an anonymous user profile. If and when IP addresses are recorded, they will be made anonymous immediately after being recorded by deleting the last block of numbers. The data collection and storage carried out by Lead Tools for this website may be objected to and revoked at any time with future effect by sending notification thereof to privacy@quentic.com; you can also select the “DO NOT TRACK” function in your browser.

If you do not wish to be tracked when viewing our videos, please send us a message. We will then switch you to private viewing mode.

Hotjar

We use Hotjar to better understand the needs of our users and optimize both our services and user experience on our website. We collect information about how much time users spend on our website, what links they click on, which pages interest them and which do not, etc., which then helps us to adapt our services based on this user feedback. Hotjar uses cookies and other technology to collect data about user behavior and end devices, especially IP address (which is recorded and saved in an anonymous fashion during website use), screen size, device type (Unique Device Identifiers), information on the Quentic Data protection regulations online services 2021-04 browser used, and location (country only) to display the website in the correct language. Hotjar saves this information per our request in a pseudonymous user profile. Hotjar is contractually prohibited from selling data collected per our request or using it for any purpose other than described above. If you disable Analytics cookies when visiting our website, Hotjar will not collect your data.
